Seriously, though, I've often gotten great results copying and pasting
error messages into google's search (methinks this has been discussed
before on this list, no?).  It's always my first search

Google does an "and" with each of your search terms by default, so I'm
pretty sure using the word and or the + sign is unnecesary.
