date(1) for the internal clock of your operating system and hwclock(1) for
the hardware clock (hence the name). Actually, the hardware clock is
the one which causes the "clock skew" messages. Both commands may only be
executed by root.
The command
hwclock --set --date "12 October 2001 09:41"
sets your clock to the date I had when sending this mail. ;-)
