Did you check the nsswitch.conf file to make sure DNS is listed for name resolution? That one always gets me on Sol7-intel. Also, I think you might have to reboot for it to be re-read, at least, again, on 7 you do. Also, try putting another line in /etc/hosts and see if it will use that, just to make sure the network card is working. mc
