[techtalk] chrooted shell?

hey yall,

does anyone have any success stories about making a chrooted shell env for particular users?  Ideally i would love to do something quick and easy like in wuftp where you just put a "." in user's /etc/password entry where you want to user to stick.  I'm dreading wrapping particuluar users' shells in chroot, copying all the binaries they need, and hoping that they have permission.
