[techtalk] port purposes...

Walt,

First try looking in /etc/services and if it is
not listed there go to http://www.snort.org/
and under the "Rules" subsection of the side menu
choose "Port Search".  It is a pretty good look
up site, for example 6001 is X Windows :)
