surely. Well, I don't know whether usage of the linux.par file is a
SuSE-specific thing, but I don't think so. In this file you save the
information about where your kernel resides, about the device file which
represents your root partition and additional settings. There are several
HOWTOs about dual-booting Windows and Linux, Linux boot parameters and
usage of loadlin.
