printk is a function in the kernel.  It's not callable from user
software.  printk is essentially printf for the kernel.  If you have
section 9 man pages, it might be documented in there.  (Most people
don't have section 9 man pages, since they're of no use at all to
anyone who is not a kernel developer.)
