[techtalk] Sendmail 554 buildaddr: no host

Your mail server seems to be fine, it just doesn't like the <> test address.
When I manually connected and put in a normal From address it took it fine.

Arrrrrrgh!!!!!

I'm having a problem with my sendmail configuration that I can't
figure out, and I'm hoping somebody here will be able to help me.

I've been having mail bounced from my server lately, and so I went to
the MX-verify CGI at www.zmailer.org/mxverify.html to see what was
going on. I initially suspected an mx problem because I am using
dynamic dns via dyndns.org.

I'll give you an excerpt from the reply:

HELO nic.funet.fi

You really should go to www.zmailer.org/mxverify.html and put in my
domain name, lupercalia.net, to see the entire message.

I looked at the sendmail source and found the relevant code, but was
mystified. I don't know what's going on.

Can anybody help? Please? 

Oh, and PLEASE CC TO DCMERRILL at MINDSPRING.COM

(I may or may not receive mail to this address. Some mail comes in,
some bounces.)
