When you compiled the kernel, turn SCSI support on, go under SCSI Low-level
drivers and choose Iomega Parrall Zip Drive.
If you did that already, check to see if you compiled it into the kernel or
as a module. If it's a module, then you'll have to modprobe the ppa (I
think?) module.
