Seems like I got the wrong end of the stick there!  Sounds like a 
worthwhile project. I certainly am interested in work for churches, and 
would be most interested in helping you work out things that you don't 
understand.  I have a little experience with Python, so that will not be 
a problem.  I probably don't have time to join a development team, but 
will keep it in the back of my mind never the less.

As far as learning more about how to do things, it really depends upon 
how your brain ticks.  Some people learn by reading other people's 
code.  Personally I much prefer looking at simple explanations and 
examples, and by doing exercises.  I see nothing wrong with learning on 
the job, so feel free to post any question here and I am sure there will 
be lots of help with explaining things.
