*Database Engineer - MySQL/NoSQL*
Cloud Platform Technologies team will be responsible for maintaining the
Test and Hosted Production systems for a fast growing SaaS company in the
Marketing Automation space. As the primary technical bridge between
Engineering and the production environment this position is a key player in
ensuring a secure, robust and available solution. This person should be
energetic, bright, and focused on team dynamics and results.

*Key Responsibilities:*
• Work directly with stakeholders to identify and understand business,
technology, and architecture requirements
• Design and document databases ensuring system scalability, security,
performance and reliability, including creation and enforcement of
development standards
• Making sure production standards are adhered to by product teams.
Ensuring product enhancements and upgrades do not negatively impact
production systems and personnel.
• Provide technical leadership & participate in hands-on development of
systems solutions
• Research/Evaluate new and existing databases including upgrades, patches
& automate deployment process.
• Analyze system performance, identify problems and implement solutions,
review and tune complex SQL statements
• Proactively monitor database for performance tuning and optimization to
eliminate performance bottlenecks.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies for applicability and adoption

*Skills & Experience Required:*
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering
• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in database design, tuning and
administration for SaaS, OLTP and OLAP systems
• Experience with MySQL and their feature set
• Knowledgeable with database replication and scalability issues
• Working knowledge of NoSQL database systems (MongoDB, Cassandra, Hadoop,
 HBase etc.)
• Database and code performance monitoring, tuning and optimization
• Automation of database maintenance tasks to support multiple environments
• Standards and technical document creation and maintenance
• Strong Linux skills and shell scripting
• One on one support for development and test engineers
• Self-starter with a passion for new technologies
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills – able to manage
and prioritize multiple assignments
• Excellent English communication skills
