POSITION PURPOSE:
Hostway Corporation (www.hostway.com) is looking for an Enterprise Server
Support II in our AustinData Center. The position will include a variety of
responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Technicians are responsible
for tasks ranging from building and imaging servers to supporting customers
via phone and email support, as well as participating with internal
projects and large enterprise customers. The ideal candidate is highly
motivated, imaginative, innovative, easy to work with, and excited to learn
new, bleeding-edge technologies.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Engage with our customers using both phone and customer portals
• Support both Windows and Linux dedicated and virtual server customers
• Assist and educate customers on basic and advanced use of products and
services
• Educate customers on the availability of internal and external resources
• Be a part of a team who knows the value of mentoring and promoting
technical growth for all team members
• Possess the ability to comprehend and execute company-wide
interdepartmental escalation procedures
• Participate in team meetings, providing input and suggestions to further
increase productivity
• Must have flexible shift availability including nights and weekends
• Must have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize
tasks and responsibilities
• Possess the desire to take on advanced responsibilities
• Perform other duties as assigned

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience supporting Windows and/ or Linux operating systems
• Server hardware knowledge (hands-on experience a plus)
• At least 2 years’ experience in a technical support or server
administrator position
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of the following: Sendmail, Qmail, FTP,
SSH, Cpanel, Plesk, VMware, PHP, MySQL, MSSQL, Hyper-V
• Knowledge of IP tables and Windows Firewalls
• Working knowledge of Apache, MySQL and IIS
• Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and communication skills
