Our company (or rather the company owning the company I work for, but
we're co-located) are hiring. You can contact me for more information
about the company and how it is to work here, and Anders Lund (see info
at the bottom of the email) for information specific to the job.

Uninett definitely has a majority of male employees in technical
positions, but 1/3 of the company are female, and this department is
lead by a (great!) woman.

The position is definitely open to applicants from EU/EEA (and probably
to those with a permanent work permit in this area, if it can be
transferred to Norway), but also strong candidates from outside this
area may apply.

Trondheim is the 3rd largest city in Norway, about 500 km north of Oslo.

UNINETT is strengthening the team on identity solutions and federated
identity systems with two system developers within federated identity
systems. One position is permanent, the other is a temporary position
due to a team member going on parental leave.

UNINETT operates, maintains, and develops Feide, which is the Norwegian
national federated identity system. The Feide team is also the home of
the award-winning application for authentication, simpleSAMLphp. You
will be part of a team that operates a critical system for the Norwegian
educational sector, with more than 25 million logins every year. See
more on www.feide.no.

Main responsibility and tasks
For the permanent position:

    System development, improvement and deployment
Build new federated systems that work across organizational borders

    Some support and documentation
    Work related to simpleSAMLphp software

Qualifications
A university or college degree within engineering or other relevant
fields at a master or bachelor level. Relevant experience may compensate
for formal education.

We look for people who

make things on the Internet work, and are able to debug and pinpoint
failures
have good knowledge of Internet protocols
    have knowledge of identity solutions
    understand integration of various systems
prefer simple, clean and tidy solutions, based on REST, JSON, and
XML
enjoy and are able to program in various languages; preferably PHP,
but knowledge of Python and Javascript is a plus

Employment in the permanent position requires that you live in
Trondheim, telecommuting may be considered for the other position.
