Title:  Jr or Mid Level Linux System Administrator

Location: Milpitas, CA

Employment Type:  Full Time Employee

Salary: $60-90K (based on experience)

In the position of Jr/Mid Linux System Administrator you will be responsible
for:

.        Setting up and maintaining Linux servers for large scale, multiple
data center deployments. 

.        Experience with Switches, Router, DNS, VPN, Firewalls, VLANs, Load
Balancing, Nagios,  Web Servers and SAN as well as helping implement
best-practices (high availability, security, DR, daily backup etc.).

.        You will be responsible for supporting the Linux servers running in
the Applications Hosting Data Center.

This includes, but not limited to:

.        Installing, configuring and deploying hardware/software required to
support hosted applications.

.        Providing technical support to the application maintenance team.
This includes installing and configuring upgraded applications and layered
software (Oracle, JBoss, Tomcat, etc.) releases, assisting with application
testing & benchmarking, etc.

.        Monitor and track security and uptime of systems per policy and SLA

.        Monitor and respond to production system emergencies

.        Providing and updating technical documentation, systems/network
infrastructures and operational procedures

Skills and Qualifications:

Must have

.         US Citizenship

.         1-3 years of Linux sysadmin experience (Redhat/CentOS)

.         Good with TCP/IP concepts

.         Understands how DNS works on Unix machines (bind)

.         Proficient with SSH

.         Understands NFS & shared file system concepts

.         Linux/Unix/OS installation & customization

.         Apache configuration & management

.         Configuration of sendmail/postfix/generic email servers (or SMTP
based)

.         Good scripting skills (either bash or python or perl or php)

Good to have

.         Management of Tomcat or JBOSS

.         Experience with Nagios

.         Exposure to databases like MySQL or Postgres

.         Subversion

.         Firewall management with IP tables

.         Windows desktop & domain management

.         Proxy servers

.         Virtualization concepts

.         Strong verbal & written communication skills

.         Flexible work schedule
