Job Description:
Truveo is looking for a smart, organized Unix Systems Administrator to
manage Truveo production releases, automation, and network operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for (1) working with the
development teams, Operations teams, and management team to organize and
schedule software releases (front end, back-end, crawlers, etc.) into
production (2) as part of operations you will be developing automation
systems (3) maintaining the Truveo build, management and deployment
framework. The ideal candidate will possess a desire to learn new
software technologies, have excellent communication skills, be flexible,
have a good sense of humor and be efficient at organizing and completing
tasks. 

Principal responsibilities include:
- Build a test and automation frame work
- Provide level 2 Application support for the production environment on
a 7x24 rotation
- Work on monitoring systems and refining deployment and build processes
- Coordinate releases with various teams and make sure appropriate
environments are in place
- Manage the release process of all software components to be placed in
production for a large scale video search platform
- Maintain and improve the build, management and deployment framework
and participate in the design and documentation of this environment
- Manage test environments
- Write and distribute weekly release notes
- Work on .run book. documentation so the NOC can better support
operations

Required Skills:
- Experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment
- Experience working with a Source Control Management Software such as
SVN, or CVS
- Fluency in one of more of: Shell, Ruby, PHP, or Perl
- Solid understanding of Web Server Technologies
- Solid working knowledge of Unix, preferably Linux
- Understanding of Hadoop Framework or willingness to learn
- Experience with virtualization technologies a plus
- SQL experience, MySQL a plus
- Proven ability to organize and complete tasks on time
- Strong communications skills

Education:
BA/BS in CS, MS
