The Technical Support Engineer position is in the 24 x 7 Technical
Assistance Center within the Worldwide Services organization, reporting
to the Director, Technical Support. Responsibilities include:

Requirements: 


Requires an AS degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3(+) years of
technical support experience in high-technology companies, preferably
within the Network Storage or Digital Video/Broadcast industries.

Skills and Experience
As an individual in this position, you must have strong communication
skills, both verbal and written.  You must be able to prepare detailed
technical and operational notes documenting process and procedural
change, product issues, customer case information, and product stability
and serviceability recommendations and effectively communicate with
end-customers and key functional areas within the company.  Your ability
to work with customers under a variety of circumstances and pressures
and understand and meet customer expectations is fundamental. The
candidate must have the following:

Demonstrated ability to take initiative in identifying and successfully
resolving technical problems at customer sites via phone, email and
remote access. 

*	Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral
forms with customers, other support and development engineers, and
management. 
*	Knowledge of Networks and Storage concepts, techniques, and
products, experience with NAS and SAN technologies in the Storage
Industry is highly desirable. 
*	Hands on experience and or certifications in LDAP, 
*	RHCE/RHCT, CCNA or MCSE is a major plus. 
*	Working knowledge and experience with the following technologies
is required: 
*	Networking - Ethernet, routers, switches, hubs, TCP/IP, CIFS,
and NFS. 
*	Storage - NAS, SAN, SCSI, Fiber Channel, RAID, RAID groups, and
volumes. 
*	Operating system - Strong Linux & Unix, with Windows Active
Directory experience. 

 A working knowledge and/or experience with some of the following
technologies is a major plus: 

*	Audio/video compression formats - DV, MPEG2, SDI, and ASI. 
*	3rd party broadcast products - Real Time Encoders, Edit Suites
(Apple FCP, Avid Digital Suites). 
*	Automation Systems (Sundance, Harris, Omnibus).
