Open Source (LAMP) Software Architect (Back-end) – San Francisco Bay Area

Would you like to become the founding software architect of a new web 
2.0 start-up? Self-funded by two technical hands-on founders both with 
several very successful start-ups.
We will start off with a virtual office and work remotely from home and 
locate to physical offices based on the geographical mass of the 
employees. Launch is scheduled for April of 2008.
We are looking for a self starter software engineer capable of designing 
and implementing the business logic and data access layer services of 
new Software as a Service (SaaS) application targeted at IT vendors.
The ideal architect will have a thorough understanding of AJAX, object 
oriented programming, and web development methodologies. We require a 
highly motivated individual passionate about building scalable web 
services and capable of translating ideas from concept into reality. You 
will work closely with the founders and a presentation layer UI 
architect to architect and implement the business logic, workflow, and 
data access layers of the application.
It is anticipated that offices will be located near the mid San 
Francisco Bay Peninsula or mid East Bay
Qualifications:
• 3+ years web application development experience
• Experienced with Ruby on Rails or PHP (or another equivalent web 4GL)
• SQL expertise a must
• MySQL programming experience including basic table layout, stored 
procedures development a plus
• Experience building applications/services that send personalized 
emails a plus
• Linux/Unix expertise recommended
• Desire to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong collaborative skills and ability to fulfill multiple roles
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related; or 
equivalent work experience
• Must be US Citizen or Green card holder.

Open Source (LAMP) Front-end UI Architect – San Francisco Bay Area

We are looking for a self starter software engineer capable of designing 
and implementing a visually compelling user interface leveraging the 
latest web development methodologies and the AJAX programming model.

The ideal architect will have a thorough understanding of web user 
interface design principles, coupled with demonstrated knowledge of 
tools, frameworks, and languages necessary to design, build and support 
a new Software as a Service (SaaS) application targeted at IT vendors. 
We require a highly motivated individual passionate about building 
compelling user interfaces and capable of translating ideas from concept 
into reality. You will work closely with the founders and a Software 
Architect to architect and implement the look and feel of the application.
It is anticipated that offices will be located near the mid San 
Francisco Bay Peninsula or mid East Bay
Qualifications:
* 3+ years web application development experience
* XHTML and CSS experience required
* Javascript experience a must
* Experienced with Ruby on Rails or PHP (or another equivalent web 4GL)
* Demonstrated experience building AJAX applications
* Knowledge of one or more AJAX frameworks (DOJO toolkit, Yahoo User 
Interface Toolkit, Script.aculo.us., etc) required
* Linux/Unix expertise recommended
* Desire to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong collaborative skills and ability to fulfill multiple roles
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related; or 
equivalent work experience
