      Job Description:  






      Lead a team of software engineers involved in development of Service Modules/Line Card (LC) for Network Traffic & Performance Analysis software for Access/Core Routers (ISR/7600) & Switching platforms (Cat6K). Requires use of a strong background in embedded SW design and implementation, on projects that may include any of the following list of responsibilities: Architect, design and develop of modular & distributed system software. Define new software product features. Lead large portions of software independently and rapidly. Champion new, improved design methodologies. Participate and/or take a lead role in Cisco''s Patent Program. Working with program management & key customers in assigned areas to determine or create technical approaches to satisfy market needs.Initiates projects that will have a broad applicability in Cisco''s product line applying unique approaches. Responsible for leading technical decisions required on a project. Experienced in end-to-end product planning and execution thru'' all stages of product development. Responsible for technical content of design reviews and code walkthroughs. Takes a leadership role in the technical content of the system specification/unit functional specification. Helps engineers find ways to attack new or difficult problems. Establishes well-defined technical direction and aligns the direction with that of Cisco. Reviews plan and writes specifications for assigned area. Identifies issues and technical interdependencies and suggests possible changes.
      Leading techinal team in planning, design and development of embedded software solutions. Working experience in CEF/Packet Forwaring, Device Drivers, Kernel Loadable Module (KLM), Packet Capture - Traffic/Performance Analysis, Strong software design and programmming skills are essential. Working experience with LINUX/DCOS/IOS-XR/IOS/CatOS, C, RMON/SNMP is highly desireable. Working experience using UNIX/IOS/VxWorks/QNX and C developing products in IOS/IOS-XR/CatOS, LAN/WAN Network environments is preferred. Knowledge & experience in the following areas is preferred including Traffic & Performance Analysis, RMON/SNMP, WAN Optimization, OAM and FCAPS. 
      Understanding of networking industry OAM/Control Point sub-system is a plus. Ability to plan & excute large projects. Work is performed without management direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Customer resolution requires excellent verbal skills and professional presentation. Encourages and accepts personal feedback. Mentors junior team members. Demonstrate ability to successfully influence win-win cross-functional dynamics. Resolves conflicts by fostering team communications. Provides technical guidance to small teams. Takes ownership for initiatives and code facits, and then drives ongoing evaluation and success. Determines own methods on issue resolution. Uses judgement to solve problems where protocol might not exist. Makes product level decisions independently. Dedication to Customer Success.
      Typically requires BSEE/CS or equivalent with 10+ years relevant experience in internetworking technologies and applications.
