Description:

Associated Content is looking for a PHP Software Engineer to build new
consumer applications on top of AC Content Management System. This position
offers a unique opportunity to learn the business model of numerous
publishing systems and translate them into highly usable applications within
the context of a single-instance and component based architecture. 

 

Applicants should have a strong working knowledge and a solid understanding
of object oriented application design, and the confidence to apply this
knowledge to web application development.

 

The success of this position will be measured by the timeliness, usability,
and quality of the applications. This position is a member of a dynamic
high-energy Application Development team.

 

Responsibilities:

Your role will be to develop and maintain applications that allow consumers
to search and transact with a wide range of services. You will be
responsible for:

 

* Developing Web applications using PHP, JavaScript, XML, CSS, DHTML and
HTML.

* Design and development of MSSQL, MYSQL or Oracle databases.

* Taking ownership of the quality and usability of the application

* Partnering with product management, QA, and Services Delivery to
understand business requirements and translate them into high quality
designs

 

Job Qualifications:

* Applied experience with PHP, JavaScript, XML, CSS, DHTML and HTML.

* Object Oriented development skills and building online applications

* Experience database design and development with MSSQL, MYSQL or Oracle.

* Experience with other languages and technologies: C, Shell Script, PERL,
AJAX, OO frameworks.

* Experience with Linux platform.

* BS/BA in Computer Science or related. 

* Have a passion for usability, Strong project management skills, Excellent
written and oral communication skills

* Able to collaborate and thrive in a fast-paced high-performance
environment.
