BACKGROUND

Associated Content, is looking for a Linux System Administrator to assist in
planning and expanding the company's infrastructure requirements. The
position will be responsible for architecting, planning, implementing and
managing two key components of the business: Our consumer web presence is a
24/7 operations and General Internal Administrative operations. Both
environments are undergoing considerable growth. This is not simply a
maintenance position, as both environments are making strides to upgrade
hardware, operating systems, and database platforms in addition to
remediation initiatives. Attention to detail, capacity to plan, ability to
execute, and a commitment to excellence will take the individual far within

JOB DESCRIPTION

Linux System Administrator position will be charged with: 

* All systems administration functions for Redhat Enterprise Linux & CentOS.


* Establishing and managing network hardware, including email delivery
systems. 

* Establishing and managing development environments for software engineers,
including creation of environments and installation of software. 

* Establishing and monitoring backup and recovery systems. 

* Being - on-call,- 24/7, to respond immediately to any system failures,
managing a rotating schedule.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking a senior level, hands-on professional with the following
qualifications: 

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. 

* 5+ years of system administration experience on a Linux platform. 

* 3+ years of experience with Perl or shell scripting. 

* 2+ years experience building and managing load-balanced web server
clusters with Apache, PHP, and Virtual Hosting. 

* 2+ years experience with backup and recovery at an enterprise-level,
including tar, afio, ssh, and scp. 

* 2+ years of disk management experience with Linux LVM. 

* 2+ years of managing and configuration of Cisco Routers and interoffice
connectivity.

* 2+ years experience of building, managing, and responding to monitoring
systems measuring critical system performance. 

* General familiarity with DNS, SMTP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, GRE),
transfer (SSH, SCP, Rsync).
