Job Description 

Navitaire is seeking an outstanding individual to provide Solaris and
Red Hat Linux System Administration support in a global production
environment.  They will be responsible for working with vendors, IT
personnel, and end users to resolve application and system problems.
The Systems Engineer is also responsible for working with internal
technical teams to propose, design, order, build, install, and configure
new systems.  Responsibilities include installing and configuring
hardware, operating systems and any required third party software.  The
Systems Engineer will also provide support for internal systems
monitoring and backup software and recommend upgrades as required.  The
Systems Engineer works with direction and supervision from the Senior
Systems Engineer, but is expected to work with high levels of
independence and provide advice and assistance to associate System
Administrators.  Success comes easy here....if you are the type of

Key responsibilities may include:

*	Perform moderate UNIX system administration duties and complex
hardware/software troubleshooting independently.
*	Handle client (internal and external) requests/questions and
estimate efforts required to complete them. 
*	Handle internal requests for investigation and resolution of
system related issues.
*	Document recurring processes and maintain existing system
documentation.
*	Guide Associate Systems Engineers.
*	Contribute to staff development (mentoring, training,
leadership).
*	Adhere to Navitaire and Accenture policies and standards.
*	Perform other related duties as required and assigned
*	Lift 50 lbs repetitively (servers and workstations). 

Job Requirements

*	Domestic and International travel necessary, typically not to
exceed 15%. 
*	Participate in on-call support by rotating with other team
members in the on-call rotation schedule that entails carrying a pager
and providing 24X7 support 
*	Valid passports will need to be obtained due to the traveling
opportunities overseas. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

*	Minimum three years of experience in Solaris system
administration or related field, or minimum 3 years of previous
experience as an Associate Systems Engineer or equivalent position
*	Minimum three years experience with Solaris operating system and
csh/sh/ksh/Perl scripting.  
*	Minimum three years experience Storage Management/Administration
(RAID, NFS, etc). 

Preferred Skills 

*	Bachelors Degree in a technical area. 
*	Good customer service skills and the ability to work
independently to solve complex technical problems and manage projects of
varying scope.
*	Red Hat Linux / Veritas Netbackup software / Legato Networker
software / Network Appliance storage experience a plus. 

Professional Skill Requirements  

*	Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a strong
aptitude for problem solving 
*	Experience solving large-scale problems and familiarity with the
airline industry and/or transportation industry is a plus 
*	Foreign language speaking abilities a plus 
*	Demonstrated comfort in working with both technical and
non-technical personnel 
*	Strong written and oral communication and negotiation skills 
*	Ability to contribute to a high-performing, motivated workgroup
by applying interpersonal and collaboration skills to achieve project
goals and realize value 
*	Ability to contribute to the creation of an environment that
facilitates high performance and motivates individuals to work
collaboratively as a team
