Job Description	 Redback Networks is seeking a Senior System Software Design
Engineer to join our Platform Software Team. As a contributing member of
this team, you will help design, implement, and enhance the Redback
broadband aggregation products with the highest degree of availability,
scalability, reliability, and flexibility. Candidate will: Design and
implement major features in the SmartEdge Operating Systems and other System
software components. Provide extensions and enhancements to the Redback
SmartEdge OS libraries. Analyze customer and marketing requests for
feasibility, costs and development effort. Provide input to project
schedules. Analyze defect reports, provide patches when required, and write
technical specifications.	
Job Requirements	 This position requires strong knowledge of
Operating Systems, drivers, embedded software, and networking. The candidate
should have a demonstrated experience with state of the art RISC processors
coupled with a strong background in networking, operating systems
fundamentals and expertise in NetBSD or Linux. Familiarity with assembly
language and multiprocessor architecture is a plus. Experience with building
carrier-class system with resiliency and redundancy is an asset. A minimum
of 8+ years of embedded software development experience and BS/MS in a
related discipline is required. A general understanding of NPI product
life-cycle, ISO standards related to both Quality Management Systems (QMS),
and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) are a plus.
