The System Administrator III role is a senior level position. This position is responsibility for administering, supporting and managing the hardware platforms, operating systems, and their related products and technologies on 24 hours per day by 7 days per week basis. This position must lead, influence, consult, mentor and work well in a team environment. As a member of a team, this position will ensure high standards for system uptime, availability, and performance. Additionally, this position will establish, document, and maintain technology roadmaps, strategies, standards, best practices, procedures, processes, and guidelines. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: 

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience. 

At least 10 years of System Administration experience with more recent exposure to SUN enterprise systems, SUN Solaris operating system, Veritas Clustering System, Veritas NetBackup, Hitachi SAN storage, and Brocade switch fabric. 

Strong technical working knowledge and hands-on experience at the large installed level. 

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, security, performance monitoring, performance tuning, and integrity of the operating system. 

Able to be accessible and available for on-call responsibilities on a rotation basis. 

Highly skilled with understanding and developing advanced UNIX and PERL scripts.

Highly skilled in the internals of enterprise hardware systems, UNIX system administration, SAN storage design and administration, and networking. 

Demonstrates a broad understanding of information technologies, including but not limited to, clustering, SAN, networking, backup, data replication at the system level, High Availability systems, Disaster Recovery, and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS). 

Designs, develops and implements SQL and OS scripts/code for the purpose of database administration.
