TITLE: Group Manager - UNIX Midrange Infrastructure Services
SALARY: $100,000 to $140,000
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Required:
** Bachelors degree
** Excellent English
** At home formulating and presenting, in front of a group, business cases
for technical projects
** Recognized and loved as a team player and leader (your references will
need to back this up)
** 6+ years IT management with superior skills in crafting IT strategies,
evaluating potential technical solutions, and translating these into

DESCRIPTION:
Lead both the people and the technology of a Midrange Infrastructure
Services team. You will be responsible for the overall organizational
health and management of a team of 25-35 FTEs (approximately 75% employee
and 25% contractor) in four geographic locations.
** Build and manage a top-notch team of UNIX systems administrators
** The manager and team designs, builds and supports the computing
environment that runs this 24x7 operation
** A hands-on leader with strong technical vision deeply committed to the
use of technology to improve the efficiency of business
** Visit each geographic site on a monthly basis (at minimum) and meeting
with team members to understand challenges, recognize accomplishments, and
communicate departmental and team updates
** Ensure operational stability and ongoing engineering of solutions in
support of the corporate infrastructure.
** Strong interpersonal and communications skills, enabling you to instill
confidence in your team and work very closely with customers, CTO's,
technical teams, functional leads and project managers
** Able to not only lead their team but also participate in the design,
implementation and maintenance of the complex UNIX and SAN systems and

change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future
business needs and capabilities
** Develop and communicate infrastructure project timelines, including
major milestones, priorities, bottlenecks and risk assessment, while
organizing cross functional activities ensuring project completion
** Work with all aspects of Operations to ensure continued stability of
the production server environment
** Manage excellent customer relationship by addressing operational issues
proactively and by meeting customers periodically
You will be expected to provide both strategic thought leadership and
day-to-day management of the following areas:
** Engineering, deployment, operations and 3rd-level support of Midrange
server solutions, including HP Unix, IBM Unix, Clustering Software's,
Storage solutions, DR solutions, User Account administration, Sox
Compliance and Backup Solutions
** Primary ownership of the vendor relationship with the corporation's key
partners in the Midrange space: HP, IBM and EMC.
** Ongoing improvement of all customer-facing aspects of the Midrange
infrastructure (e.g. server ordering process, technology refresh
processes), including demonstrated sustained reductions in cost of
ownership and stability of the Midrange infrastructure
** Leadership of ongoing corporate infrastructure initiatives, including
Sunset old legacy systems to an enterprise infrastructure solutions
** Management responsibility for a $26 MM budget and all Midrange-related
contracts, maintenance renewals and vendor engagements.
** Responsibility for corporate software license compliance for all
aspects of Intel infrastructure, and ongoing responsibility for
standardizing and reducing the technology footprint.
** Ensuring that disaster recovery processes and procedures are documented
and tested on a regular basis for the corporation's Tier I Midrange
platforms
** Serving as Sarbanes-Oxley control owner for all Midrange-related key
controls, and certifying compliance with these controls quarterly or as
required
** Partnering with application development teams to provide infrastructure
support for new projects as required
** Representing the corporation on infrastructure-related industry boards
and forums

access, and extranet connectivity and web services across the enterprise.
