(cc to Swati Sani dropped.)
Hi.
There are too many mails on this thread for me to respond to them
individually. I just want to make a few points, and I'll do so as
briefly as possible. If anyone needs any clarification on my opinion,
please do ask, and I'll reply in more detail. I am fully aware that I
may have missed some posts, and that could be the reason I don't have
some information: in which case, please point me to the relevant post.

1. Thank you, Gayathri, for taking the effort to draft the mail.
2. Gayathri, did I perhaps miss a post from you informing the list
that you had found an alternate email address for her?
3. I don't understand why Swati Sani has been cc-ed in this thread
from the very beginning. I didn't see any understanding in the earlier
discussion that she should be copied right away into such a mail.
Continuing the discussion with her address in the cc seems rather
inappropriate to me - she has not responded as yet, and it would be
rather rude to continue inundating her inbox with our discussion.
4. I agree that someone with a history of usurping domains is not
someone I would trust in such matters. Nor is she active on the list.
I don't think her name should be anywhere in any of the
advisory/administrative/technical contacts.
5. I personally prefer that persons who are active in the community
take up responsibilities and ownerships. However, I understand that
some members on the list might prefer to have an "advisory" group too.
6. I appreciate that the formation of such groups is for a more
orderly and systematic approach. However, I would like to clarify that
anyone who wishes to volunteer for anything can do so right away and
not wait for the groups to be formed. We can and must continue our
activities alongside the process of group formation.
7. Gayathri has listed a few names from her experience. Thanks for
that, Gayathri. However, I notice that other than Vid and me, the
others in that list are silent. Please do respond, even if it is to
disagree.
8. For myself, I state that I have been a list admin, and am quite
happy to continue to be one. If no one else wants to do it, I don't
mind sending the mail that Sriram has drafted to Swati Sani, on behalf
of the list. I don't mind being listed as one of the domain contacts.
However, I am in no position currently to take on any other technical
responsibilities.
If I become unavailable to participate as much as I am doing now, I
will inform the list, and hand over any responsibilities I might have
(to somebody willing).
If I have more time in the future to take on more responsibilities, I
will inform the list of it, and take on whatever is appropriate.
9. I request other women members of the list to please give their
opinion. This list is for *you* and your participation is valuable.

Thanks.
