Hi folks,

On the recommendation of Jenn Vesperman, I thought I would add a few comments regarding registering yourself with The Linux Counter (http://counter.li.org).

The Linux Counter is a non-profit organization based in Norway. Made up of many international volunteers and contributors, The Linux Counter was established for and by the Linux community world-wide in 1993, in an effort to promote and encourage the use of the Linux operating system.

The Linux Counter, while not yet a household name, offers a great deal of statistical information about Linux users. Broken down by country, visitors to the web site can also view statistics on not just who and where Linux users are, but what types of Linux distributions they run, what types of machines they use, and kernel versions, to name a few.

Please note: You always have the option of choosing NOT to display your information, and still be counted!

The information provided is a statistical overview of Linux users and is not used for ANY other reason. Only the information you choose to display will be shown.

The Linux Counter's "Purpose" is located at: http://counter.li.org/organization/charter.html and the "Privacy Policy" is located at: http://counter.li.org/organization/privacy.php.

We look forward to seeing you!
