compelling reason to force people to do something new if they don't

Also, on the subject of archivers for mailman: the current archiver,
pipermail, isn't exactly a favourite with most people. One big reason
it's still used is that it has very few dependencies, so the dependency
list of Mailman doesn't get too huge.
If we're feeling ambitious and wind up adapting/creating a solution
that also doesn't have too many dependencies, we could potentially
offer it up as a replacement for the current archiver.
