[Techtalk] two firefox annoyances..

Hello everyone,

I have two major pet peeves with firefox and do not know if either can
be "fixed"

(1) bookmark menus are too fast.

My computer is quite fast, 3.00ghz cpu and 2gb ram, I have tons of
bookmarks, and menus can go two or three panels deep, but if my mouse
slips off the panel of bookmarks onto the parent panel, or the
grandparent panel, I loose the panel im looking at.

Basically the menu's come flying out the side really really fast and I
would like them to slow down :)

(2) Partially loaded pages...

As is the nature of the web these days, many pages load ads, images or
other content from someplace other than the url in the address bar,
you will often see "waiting for ads.doubleclick.net" in the status
bar.

Firefox while waiting, makes that throbber thing start throbbing to let you
know its waiting, but consumes alot of cpu cycles doing this, about 5
percent of my memory and anywhere from 10 to 16 percent of my cpu.

If I am looking at the site, I hit stop and carry on surfing, ignoring
whatever it is that wont download. However I often load a link from
irc or email, with the intent to look at it later.
So returning to my work I find the system is now sluggish depending on
what other work I am doing.

Basically I want to stop loading any page after X seconds or
something. If a page dosent load for me in X seconds, I wont bother,
life's too short.

Do you think this possible?

Thanks so much..
