Thanks for the suggestion!  I've already set up sendmail for outgoing mail.
I will definitely take a look using procmail.  I like the idea of
maintaining your filters even after switching MUAs.  It just makes sense.  

I appreciate your offer of assistance...I'll give this a go and see how I
make out.
