[Techtalk] Mysterious fetchmail problem

I have a qmail server that handles mail for my local domain; I also have a
POP3 account with my ISP. For eons, I've been using fetchmail to retrieve
email from my POP3 account and send it to my local domain account via qmail.

I'm trying to replace fetchmail with getmail. In order to test things out,
I need to temporarily disable fetchmail. Weird thing is: I can't find it!!!

ps -waux | grep fetch says the fetchmail daemon isn't running. I don't
have anything in /etc/init.d or /etc/rc.* that starts the fetchmail daemon.
And fetchmail doesn't show up in /var/spool/cron/*. However, something is
definitely retrieving email from my POP3 account and I know it's definitely
not getmail 'cause I haven't done anything to make getmail run
automatically... but when I send email to my POP3 account, it magically
shows up in my domain account a few seconds later.

What am I missing?
