Tracie,
	I use this for my samba servers here at the office:

[global]
        workgroup = NEWBREED
        netbios name = ISCSV224
        server string = ISG Samba Server
        security = DOMAIN
        encrypt passwords = Yes
        password server = *
        passwd program = /bin/passwd %u
        passwd chat debug = Yes
        unix password sync = Yes
        log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
        max log size = 50
        name resolve order = wins bcast lmhosts
        socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192
        add user script = /usr/sbin/useradd %u
        local master = No
        dns proxy = No
        wins server = 172.30.225.211
        hide local users = Yes
        map system = Yes
        map hidden = Yes

Give it a try and see if that helps...I also added the PDC's info into the
/etc/hosts file.
