[Techtalk] Linux in workplace poll

At Sumgai Technology we use Linux all over the place. We set it up for
our customers as proxy servers, routers, Web servers, file servers,
print servers, and workstations. I use Mandrake Linux 8.1 as my main
system (My lapatop is a full, portable Web/WAP/SMS/IVR apps development
environment, running Apache, MySql, PostgreSQL, postfix, etc...)

Our customers who use Linux as more than a Web server include a Web mail
company, a hedge fund, and two non-profit organizations. That's almost
our whole more-than-Web customer list so far, as we're just 9 months old
now.

Recently one of my employees asked if Mandrake was our "corporate
standard" to which I replied "Hell NO!", and he has since loaded several
flavors on the machines he uses in his home-office including SUSE and
Debian. I'm hoping that by having us use different environments we'll be
better ready to advise customers on the best system set ups for their
own needs.
