[Techtalk] Slackware 8, Xfree 4.1.0, and an S3 Virge card

I have to agree that that's a good idea to try.  Also, are they the same
versions of X with Mandrake and Slackware?  I've seen that sort of trouble
on my machine when I didn't have the right video stuff for my computer. 
When I first installed, my card wasn't supported, so I was trying to use a
driver for a slightly different ATI card in hopes that it would work.  It
*mostly* worked, but 1/3 of the screen was black.  When I went to newer
versions of everything, my card was named specifically, and the problem was
solved.
