Wallaby Financial is seeking a Lead Operations Engineer that can build,
maintain, and continuously improve production environments across multiple
data centers.

The ideal candidate loves scalable and automated production environments
that function as a virtual private cloud. You might be a cranky sysadmin,
but you still know you have to be friendly while working with development,
managed hosting, data center, and network engineering teams to ensure the
most secure and robust architecture in each point-of-presence.

About the Role:
• Develop and maintain configurations for all virtualized nodes and
hypervisors in each production environment, utilizing automation tools and
scripting wherever possible
• Resolve technical issues found in production with immediate and long-term
solutions
• Convey issues, updates, and project status to peers, hosting partners,
customers and management
• Work with security vendors and personnel to maintain PCI DSS 3.0 Level 1
certification
• Implement one-click deployments for all new servers or application
releases
• Work with live monitoring and log analysis tools to ensure a consistent
real-time health and load view of all production environments
• Manage incident and change management tickets, as well as documentation,
for all network and server architectures utilized in each datacenter
• Manage MySQL configurations
• Help instill a true DevOps philosophy across engineering teams

About You:
• At least 5 years Linux system administrator experience
• At least 2 years experience with Chef or similar scriptable automation
tools
• At least 2 years experience with virtualization (Xen strongly preferred)
• Solid understanding of application stacks: LAMP, nginx, CentOS, and RPM
repositories
• Solid DBA experience: MySQL, Redis, Elastic Search, and Hadoop strongly
preferred
• Understanding of network configurations
• Experience with security tools and familiarity with PCI DSS or similar
security standards
• Comfort with source control and deployment tools: SVN, GitHub, Jenkins,
and Maven
• Scripting skills (Ruby, Python, Bash, or Perl)
• Experience with Nagios, datadog, logstash, and other infrastructure
monitoring software
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Experience implementing disaster recovery and high availability processes
and plans
• Must be eligible to work in the United States (we cannot sponsor visas)
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience

With Regards,
Ron D
