Description:
The Open Source Technology Center (OTC) within the Intel Software and Services Group (SSG) is creating software for MeeGo.  This position is for a software quality assurance (SQA) lead engineer.

OTC is looking for lead engineers with proven ability to set the technical direction and be a leading technical contributor as part of a team of SQA engineers.  To be successful, you must have strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to deliver results.  In this role you must demonstrate a high level of initiative and the ability to assume ownership and establish correct technical direction. You must demonstrate the flexibility to contribute to multiple areas in a global organization and have the ability to work with team members from different backgrounds and cultures. The ideal candidate must be motivated to consistently deliver to commitments, have the ability to set technical direction for a team of SQA engineers, and have the ability work across multiple technical areas to develop and execute test cases and root cause, track, and help resolve defects in a complex software stack - focused particularly on the user experience (core system UI design, applications, user interactions).

Other duties include: Developing, documenting, and implementing test plans, scenarios and test cases, establishing processes and standards for project validation and release, developing and establishing processes for defect management and release criteria, interacting with key stakeholders to establish and enforce processes for repeatedly delivering excellent results.


Qualifications:
Qualifications: BS degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5-6 years experience. MS degree with 5-6 years of experience preferred.

Additional qualifications include:
A minimum background of 3 years recent experience in a combination the following areas:
- User experience / user interface usability testing and validation
- Quality assurance for software products, preferably in the mobile device area
- Strong knowledge of C / C++ and common scripting languages such as shell script and Python
- Experience in one or more key areas, including UI design, graphics, security, power management, media, communications / telephony, Qt-based application development and testing
- Developing SQA Automation tools and test frameworks
- Familiarity with Open Source development methodologies
