[Courses] request for a course or good resources...

I just configured and compiled my own kernel from source for the first
time and found it a bit confusing. The configuration options I picked
the first time around caused the compilation process to fail. Going
with just the defaults, the compilation succeeded. Now, I just need to
try booting it and see what happens.

Based on the array of options in the 2.6 kernel, I figured I would let
it be known that if anyone was interested in writing about it, I would
like to see it as a course. Basically, the details on what each option
is, loading them as static vs. using modules, and anything else someone
who doesn't have experience with kernels should know prior to delving
into the kernel hacking course available.

And, barring anyone wanting to take that on, can anyone recommend some
resources they personally found better than most on learning the
intimate details of configuring kernels?
