[Announce]New list, change to announce

I've just created the 'linuxchix-announce' mailing list. THIS list will
be extremely restricted posting, and if I can figure out how to do it
will automatically mail all members of LinuxChix lists, (once each) when
it gets posts.
The linuxchix-announce list will ONLY be for posting announcements of
the order of 'the server is going down on Sunday', things that affect
ALL linuxchix.

The 'announce' list will be freed up for more general use, and will no
longer be 'can everyone please subscribe'. (Sorry about that, Sujita, I
just noticed you'd done work on that. My error.)

'announce' will be for chapter-specific announcements, new courses, and
for general 'ads' of high signal, low noise value. The O'Reilly
newsletters are one example of that. Anything else that's high-signal,
low-noise, and of general interest to LinuxChix can be announced on this
list.
Anyone who wants to unsubscribe to the 'new' announce, please do so. I
want to maintain the 'everyone gets a high signal-noise ratio' feel to
LinuxChix, which is why I'm modifying things.


I'm sitting here trying to figure out how to make linuxchix-announce
subscribe all the other lists but only mail once/person, if anyone on
volunteers wants to make the necessary changes to 'announce' and to the
mailing lists page, I'd appreciate it.

If anyone wants to volunteer to moderate linuxchix-announce, I'd
appreciate it. I have it set to automatically accept posts from me,
Dancer and Karen (given that we admin the server), but to
accept-for-moderation other posts. Anything that isn't going to affect
ALL linuxchix should be rejected with a request to send it to announce,
not linuxchix-announce.

Er. This isn't my best announcementy-type post ever. Oh well. I think
you all know what I'm trying to say. :)
