If this is only happening with fastmail, perhaps it's related to this:

Please note, this is based solely on the timing of their announcement,
which I saw the day before your question. I don't know much about the
particular email program you use, nor do I work for FastMail. However, I
figured this might be related to what you're experiencing.
On the other hand, if it's happening with any IMAP server, there must be
something that is shared between those two machines. Just as an example,
maybe they have similar/same SSL settings while the Android devices are
doing something different.
