fslint! Now there is an app I haven't heard about in a long time. The
job is done and I used fslint. First I made a copy of my photos
directory and then created a list of files. Then ran fslint on the
original, created a file list after the operation and diffed both
lists. It all looks good, and it was easy. 

I'm playing with all the cool scripting hacks shared here as well.
