[Techtalk] DHCP issues

Sorry all, I should have said that once I was aware the Linux admin did not stop the daemon that it was done and the machine was shut off. Basically it is all good. And yes everything is okay now. What I was trying to do was confirm that this was indeed the problem. Thanks everyone for your insights.

Yes. And you're lucky that you know where the second dhcp server is
running! A typical situation at a former workplace was some
unsuspecting intern or careless user installing a linux box and
ticking one service too many (dhcp of course) in the installer, and
the network admins hunting the rogue box for hours.

If the linux admin isn't available and nobody else has root on the
system, just plug the network cable from that thing...
