Yep, it should. You may also have to delete the ~/.gconf directories.
If you're unsure whether it will work, you can rename the directories
rather than deleting them. That way if you're unhappy with the
result, you can rename them back to their original names with no harm
done. (:

This is a ruthless way of doing it, though, because it will return
everything GNOME back to default settings, so if there are
applications that you've customized the settings in, you'll have to
do so again.

I don't know whether this one works for sure or not. The ruthless
