Hello Anne.

Which LOCALE do you use?

There are peoples using e.g.

LANG=en
LANGUAGE=en_US.utf8
LC_*=en_US.utf8

because in the output of

    locale -a

it is shown as such.
If you have your locale setup like this, change it to:

LANG=en
LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8
LC_*=en_US.UTF-8

which is the correct one.  UTF-8 instead of utf8.

Most X Programs including trhe X-Server complain about it...
