I think it's the wrong question.
I don't think a distro by women would *necessarily* be better or worse
or even different from any other -- it could well be
better/worse/different/same, but I doubt sex would have much to do with it.
It is a great chance to learn and an opportunity to question the
underpinnings of all we simply accept. How much do we put up with, just
thinking, 'Oh well, this is just what we have to deal with using any OS'
when it isn't necessarily true. If we work only on existing distros then
little will change.
I'm not saying we should drop existing distros (I enjoy using most of
the OSes on my machines) but I think questioning things and looking at
things differently is a worthwhile thing to do... even if we never
actually build anything. At the very least it might just lay the
groundwork so someone can build on that.
Questioning what we take for granted is extremely difficult. Avoiding
obstacles we can't see is nearly impossible... especially if we never
even try to see them.
