[Techtalk] recovering system - where does kernel module list live?

In trying to get ndiswrapper running to support my wireless network card, 
I've hosed the system - boot messages indicate that the module loads, but 
then everything hands when coldboot tries to load things - I need to 
either disable ndiswrapper module loading, or disable coldplug,..I must be 
blind because I'm not seeing an obvious boot script etc...

(running SUSE 9.3 pro)
