[Techtalk] Question about removable drives (Fedora Core 4)

I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop, running Fedora Core 4.

I also have multiple removable drives that plug into a removable bay. At 
this point, I have two hard drives, and a floppy drive that I can swap 
between (one hard drive stores games to play under Wine/Cedega, the 
other is fat32 for Windows docs).

At this time, if I want to swap drives, I have to edit the /etc/fstab 
file by hand, shut down, remove one drive and plug in another, and 
restart the system. This can be very inconvenient. Is there some way to 
allow me to hot swap the drives (particularly between one hard drive and 
another)?
