Hello, I tried to follow the howtos on upgrading a hard drive, but I
must have missed a step somewhere, because the new drive won't boot.
I merely get a blank screen with a blinking cursor -- no post info
I installed the new drive (hdd)
fdisk (created 4 partitions)
1 /boot 100m (made it bootable)
2 /swap 250m (changed to hex 82)
3 / 50g
4 /usr/local/private 100g
mkfs.ext3 /dev/hdd1 (and 3 and 4)
mkswap -f /dev/hdd2
cp -a (all the files)
Modified /new-disk/etc/fstab for the additional partitions (that weren't
on the original smaller disk)
What am I missing?
Uh oh, I see it -- ignore everything above -- I missed the lilo step --
and on top of that, I have grub
Now I'm lost -- what do I do next?
