Did you reboot? It's possible it's in /etc/fstab or something. Or 
perhaps you used some tool which mounted it of its own accord.

Confusing as it is, that directory's needed - to mount a filesystem, you 
need an existing directory to use as a mount point.

If you remove the "noauto", then this volume will be mounted 

Not to blow my own trumpet too much, but I did quite a bit on this type
