[Techtalk] files

I have thought about networking my computers.  I don't have too.  Only if one of the benefits of doing this is the ability of sharing files between them.  The files that will be shared are pictures, music, and word processing files, email.  Will I be able too?  I have Windows XP Pro on one machine, and Linux Mandrake 9.1 with KDE 3.1  I have a Ethernet card only on the XP pro.
