[Techtalk] Consloe Colors

I have a question about colors on the console. I like to have my ls
command show the contents of the directory color coded. I can do that by
typing ls --colors. I can set up ls to do it automatically by typing
alias ls="ls --colors" which is fine and dandy but as soon as I close the
console ls reverts back to plain vanilla ls. Is there any way to make the
alias stick for future sessions?
