Hello, the title say's it all. I first installed slackware 8.1 onto my
Dell Latitude awhile back, everything worked great, then alas, I dropped
the laptop. Some thing's happened, it froze in X, leaving me no other
choice but to reboot, a 'ext2fsck' apon reboot would then cause a kernel
panic. After trying to reinstall as a last resort, I discover a kernal
panic in that attempt aswell. After some checking, I reinserted the
ram...everything was fine and I was able to reinstall. ( I had already
began a format, didnt have much of a choice)
The install went fine, but the only problem left is the system not
detecting the insertion of a 24000 bps cardbus modem, when it would
normally beep, it now does not. Is there anything I can check to see if
this is hardware related or a configuration issue? *heres to hoping*
Thank's.
